Flu Vaccination

NHS England have announced an extension of their seasonal influenza vaccination to include social care workers. This mean our staff are now eligible to receive the flu vaccination. Please find below the information about where you can get this from:

Where can eligible staff get their vaccination?

Most community pharmacies and many GP practices are providing flu vaccinations. We recommend that staff contact their community pharmacy or GP practice to check they are providing the service before attending. For GP practices, this needs to be the member of staff’s registered practice.

What ID should staff take to their pharmacy/GP to be vaccinated?

Eligible staff will need to take appropriate ID which shows their name and their employer such as an ID badge, letter from their employer or a recent pay slip.

Changes to Data Protection Regulations

Since 1995 any organisation handling personal data has had to comply with the Data Protection Regulation, however from 25th May 2018 we will be required to comply with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This new regulation intends to strengthen and unify data protection for all. We are currently starting to gather information about the steps we need to take to become compliant with this regulation and will implement any changes before May 2018. Any changes to the way we store or handle your personal data will be communicated to you.

It great way to say thank you to you all and celebrate the year.

Monthly Focus

Each month our management team will be looking at one of the CQC standards to ensure we are effectively meeting their requirements. We will be undertaking audits, spot checks, surveys and reviewing policies and procedures so we can ensure we are gathering information to reflect the views of our families and staff teams

Throughout December we have been looking at what makes us a Well Led Service. We looked at the use and running of our online systems as well as the way we support our staff in their role. We will be looking at the full report at the next management meeting and implementing any changes over the coming weeks.

If you would like to see a full copy of the audit report please send us an email. For the month of January, we will be looking at what makes our service Caring.
